My life has been enriched by all of the children I've had the pleasure
to know and love - my nieces, nephews, and cousins. My love for children and passion for writing prompted me to
write 4 children's book manuscripts. I drew upon my travel experiences in Antarctica for one of the books, about a penguin named Peter on a journey of self-discovery.
I drew upon my experiences growing up gay for the other book, about a young girl named Penelope who has a purple pinky.
This story is both heartwarming and fun to read, as it is an exercise in alliteration. My experience as a genealogist
contributed to the third book, about a little girl who gets an assignment to build her family tree, and what she discovers
about her family and herself in the process. The fourth book is based on the story of my adopted cat Morris (see the My Pets page on this site). My love of theater (and experience writing theater reviews) also contributed to wanting to
write books for children.
I have attended 4 conferences through SCBWI (1 national and 3
regional), which were enlightening and informative.
I
am currently working on a play. More to come on that soon. I am also writing theater, film, and restaurant reviews.

I have more children's books in the works, and I am getting
closer to connecting with the right publisher, so stay tuned.
